Getting Your Real Estate Life Together: Q&A with Lindsey Elliott

Name, Location and how long have you been an Agent

Lindsey Elliott - Central New Jersey - Full Time Agent for 7.5 years

How do you stand apart from other agents?

I am a full time agent and always have been since the day I started. This is all I do. All real estate, all the time. My schedule revolves around my clients. I also have two of the best [furry] assistants out there - Jax & Opie - who most of my clients meet! :)

What is the key to attaining long-term clients?

Building and maintaining a relationship. You can provide your clients with a flawless transaction but if you don't build rapport with your clients, build a friendship, build a bond and MAINTAIN that relationship AFTER closing they will slowly forget about you and how great you are!

What marketing method is most effective for you and why?

I don't think this is any surprise...SOCIAL MEDIA! I have built a strong following of clients, agents, and business partners on social media over the last few years by not only providing aesthetically pleasing content but by constantly providing value with every post. I make sure that I don't always post pretty pictures of kitchens and houses - I constantly try to educate through a post or a video! Because if your posts aren't adding value and educating [potential] clients - how are you supposed to build their trust and prove that YOU are the Realtor for the job?

What routine do you implement in your daily real estate life?

Posting on my story! Now, we can't be on there 24/7 - that's just not possible. But, I try to always have posts on my stories. Mostly real estate related with sprinkles of dogs and personal posts - they are a super effective way to stay in front of thousands of people.

What are your DO's & DON'TS when it comes to conversation starters?

When speaking with new clients, DO ask a lot of questions. Get to know your clients not only on a real estate level but find out their WHY. Why are they moving? What is motivating them to sell? Find out if they have pets, or kids, or hobbies which will help you in the long run with finding them the perfect home. DO NOT ramble on about the market and yourself - let your clients do the talking and when you have VALUE to add - add it.

Which goals are you looking to achieve this year and what will it take to meet them?

Finishing the construction on my home and hitting Platinum Level Circle Of Excellence! It will take a lot of caffeine to get me there but I won't stop until I do.

What's one piece of advice you would give a new agent?

ALWAYS put yourself out there. Which is EXACTLY where ATRE comes into play. I have closed countless deals just because of a sweatshirt I was wearing at the gym that said "REAL ESTATE LIFE" - you want everyone to know that you are a Realtor.
